Whether you need an avatar at exactly 256×256, a banner at half size, or a photo scaled down to fit an upload limit, resizing is a constant small task. Set an exact width or height, or a percentage of the original, and keep the aspect ratio locked so nothing looks squashed. A preview shows the result before you download it.
The scaling is done with the Canvas API in your browser, so your image is processed locally and never uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser via the Canvas API — nothing is uploaded to a server.
Will resizing distort my image's proportions?
Only if you want it to. Keep 'Lock aspect ratio' checked and changing width automatically recalculates height (and vice versa) to preserve proportions.
Can I resize by percentage instead of exact pixels?
Yes. Switch to 'By percent' mode and drag the slider — 50% halves both dimensions, 200% doubles them.
What image formats are supported?
PNG, JPG and WebP. The output keeps your original format (falling back to PNG for anything else), so transparency is preserved for PNG/WebP inputs.
Does resizing also compress the file?
A little — JPG and WebP outputs are re-encoded at 90% quality, while PNG stays lossless. For real file-size reduction, use the Image Compressor afterward.
